What to Bring to Your Real Estate Closing

In the final days before closing on their New Orleans home, we always hear the same question from our clients:  What do I need to bring? Lucky for you, it’s a pretty short list!

Buyers need to bring

When it comes time for your New Orleans home closing, you'll want to make sure you have all the documents required.

Bring along a driver’s license or state ID; remember the title company will need an official copy of this in order to verify your identification.

Don't forget cash too - come with certified funds ready on a cashiers check made payable directly to the title company.

Last but not least double-check that any extra documents requested by lenders are taken care of before heading out as well – these may be special requirements so don’t let them slip through the cracks or your closing may be delayed.

Sellers need to bring

Closing on your real estate sale is exciting and important, so make sure you’re ready! Bring a driver's license to verify who you are; all keys to the house for the new owners; gate code (if applicable); alarm information including directions and contact details; service providers list with their info handy—especially pool & air conditioning pros!

Don't forget any receipts from post-inspection repairs. All this will have you set for success at closing time.

That’s it!  By the time you are ready to go to the closing, the hard part is over.  Negotiations are finished, repairs are done and the movers have packed for you.

Congratulations on a successful sale!
